Dr. Susan Aubin
Dr. Aubin attended Medical School at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She has been in practice in Ottawa since 1997 and with The Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, since 1999. Dr. Aubin is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and is very active in medical education. Her areas of interest include Emergency Obstetrics and colposcopy. Caring for pregnant women is a major focus in her Obstetrics and general Gynecology practice. She also enjoys singing and sailing.

Dr. Kevin Baker
Dr Baker received his medical degree from Queen's University in 1984 and finished his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. He completed his fellowship in Urogynecology at the University of Toronto in 1990 and has been an active member of staff at the Ottawa Hospital since then. He sees patients in the Urogynecology Clinic at the Shirley E Greenberg Women's Health Center at the Riverside Campus and maintains his Obstetrics and Gynecology practice at the Civic Campus.

Dr Baker is presently a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, the International Continence Society and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr Baker has traveled throughout Ontario and has trained over 20 community physicians (Obstetrician/Gynecologists and Urologists) in the performance of transvaginal tape procedure (TVT), a leading edge technology in the treatment of female urinary incontinence, and other reconstructive procedures. Dr Baker is fluently bilingual in English and French.

Dr. Craig E.  Campbell
Dr. Campbell is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist at The Ottawa Hospital. He enjoys doing both Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Civic Campus. His special interest is Urogynecology and has clinics at the Riverside Campus. Dr. Campbell was educated in Bermuda. He obtained his undergraduate degree (BSc. Hons in Microbiology and Immunology) and medical school training at McGill University in Montreal. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Ottawa, after which, in 1980, he was certified as a Fellow by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He completed a fellowship in Urogynecology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Since then he has practiced in Ottawa. He started the Urogynecology clinic at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and continues to provide care in the areas of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Urogynecology.

Dr. Yvonne  Cargill
Dr. Yvonne Cargill is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Ottawa Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. She received her medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. She also did fellowship training in maternal fetal medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Cargill has been a member of both the Obstetrics and the Ultrasound committees at the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC). She is active in the development of practice guidelines for the SOGC and is the physician lead for the MoreOB program, a patient safety program in obstetrics, at the Ottawa Hospital. Her role has been diverse as a participant, instructor and developer of the program. She is also a member of the quality assurance committee in obstetrics.

Dr. Cargill cares for pregnant women at her office in the Harmony Medical Centre and also coordinates the care of high risk patients within the team of health care providers at the High Risk Unit at the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Jessica Dy
Dr. Jessica Dy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology (Hns) from the University of British Columbia (1995) and her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario (1999). She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2004. She recently obtained her Master’s Degree in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Dy is a member of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology and is based at the Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital. She is actively involved in medical education and training at the University of Ottawa both at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. Her research interests are in labour management, patient safety and health services research in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is currently the medical director of Quality and Patient Safety of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Newborn Care at The Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Roman Feigel
Dr. Fiegel graduated from medical school at the University of Wroclaw in Poland. He finished a family practice residency at the University of Toronto and then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. He joined the staff at the Ottawa Hospital in 1980. His academic appointment is as assistant professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology with an interest in microsurgery.

Dr. Hélène  Gagné
Dr. Hélène Gagné is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecologist at the University of Ottawa and attending staff at the Ottawa Hospital. She completed her B.Sc. at McGill University and her MD from Queen’s University. She then completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and subsequently received her Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. Gagné completed further training in vulvovaginal diseases in the United States. Her scope of practice includes obstetrics, general gynecology, colposcopy and vulvovaginal disease. Dr. Gagné is currently accepting new obstetrical and gynecological patients.

Dr. Pierre J.  Huard
Dr. Huard is a native of Montreal. He graduated from the University of Ottawa medical school and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency programs and obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1980.

Dr. Huard is a member of the Division of Perinatology (High Risk pregnancy) at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic campus, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa. He has accumulated over 25 years of experience in high risk pregnancies but includes and cares for all pregnant mothers in his practice. Dr. Huard is fluently bilingual in English and French.

Dr. John  Lamensa
Dr. John Lamensa obtained his medical degree at the University of Toronto in 1996. He undertook residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queen’s University and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2001. He holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Lamensa has his hospital-based practice at the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he has been on staff since 2002. His scope of practice includes Obstetrics, Gynecology and Gynecological surgery. His colposcopy practice is based at the Dysplasia Clinic of the Queensway Carleton Hospital. He is involved with undergraduate and resident clinical teaching in the office and hospital.

Dr. Constance  Ling
Dr. Constance Ling obtained her medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1993. She completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dalhousie University and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1998. She completed a fellowship in Advanced Gynecological Surgery at the University of Ottawa in 1999. She was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa in 1999.

Dr. Ling has a practice based at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. Her practice includes Obstetrics and Gynecology with a particular interest in Advanced Pelvic Surgery, Operative Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy and Cervical Pathology. She sees Obstetrics and Gynecology patients at the Harmony Health Centre. Her Colposcopy practice is based at the Shirley E Greenberg Women’s Health Centre at the Riverside Campus of the Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Ling is involved with clinical teaching in the office and hospital at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr. Ling is presently a member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the Society of Canadian Colposcopists.

Dr. Susan McFaul
Susan McFaul is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Ottawa Hospital. She completed both her B.Sc. (Hons) and MD from the University of Ottawa. Following Internship at McGill University, she worked as a general practitioner for the Cree Board of Health, Chisasibi, James Bay. Dr McFaul returned to residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1990.

Dr. McFaul completed further training in colposcopy (Ottawa and Birmingham, UK), menopause (London, UK) and ultrasound; becoming a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in 1996. She is the Secretary Treasurer of the Society of Canadian Colposcopists and principal author of the Guidelines for Training Requirements in Colposcopy and its Related Treatment Modalities in 2006. She is actively involved in continuing medical education and the ongoing development of colposcopy guidelines. Dr. McFaul is currently accepting new obstetrical and gynecological patients.

Dr. Dante  Pascali
Dr. Dante Pascali is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the university of Ottawa. He received his medical degree from Queen’s University in 1998 and his Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2003 from McMaster University. Since completing a clinical fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2005, he has been actively involved with undergraduate and postgraduate education.

He is currently the Head of the Division of Urogynecology, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Undergraduate Education Director at the Civic campus as well as Gynecology Surgical lead at the Civic campus. He sees patients in the Urogynecology Clinic at the Shirley E. Greenberg Women’s Health Centre at the Riverside Campus and also sees obstetrics and gynecology patients at the Harmony Health Centre.

Dr. Pascali’s clinical and research interests focus on the evaluation and treatment of female pelvic floor prolapse and incontinence.

Dr. Joyce Schachter
Dr. Joyce Schachter received both her medical degree (1994) and fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Ottawa (1999). She completed subspecialty training in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (2001) at the University of Toronto and is one of the Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery’s founding members in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Newborn Care, University of Ottawa.

Dr. Schachter is actively involved in surgical innovation, postgraduate medical education and surgical training. She is Program Director of the Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery postgraduate fellowship which she developed and implemented in 2006, and serves on the Residency Training Team. She has contributed to national guidelines in the areas of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. Dr. Schachter maintains her practice at the Shirley E Greenberg Women’s Health Centre of the Riverside Campus, the Civic Campus, and Harmony Health Centre. She is bilingual in English and French.

Dr. Hassan Shenassa
Dr. Hassan Shenassa graduated from the University of Ottawa Obstetrics and Gynecology program in 1994 and spent two years in Fellowship training in Advanced Gynecological Surgery in Canada, the United States and France. His main areas of interest are pelvic floor and minimally invasive surgeries and cervical pathology. His research and education interests are focused on patient safety and surgical education as well as capacity building and knowledge transfer within the international medical community.

Dr. Shenassa is the clinical lead of gynecological simulation and surgical education as well as the director of International Women’s Health at the Ottawa Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology department. He is the team leader for the Surgical Obstetrical Team (S.O.T), a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to helping moms and babies through complex operative deliveries. He is a member of the ASCCP (American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology), SOGC, CNIS, ACOG and AAGL. In addition, he is the Chief of the Colposcopy program at the Harmony Health Centre in Ottawa.

Dr. Jacques Sylvain
Dr. Jacques Sylvain limits his practice to Obstetrics and Ultrasound. He is a member of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and follows High-Risk pregnancies at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic site. He provides care for low risk pregnant women at his private office at Harmony Medical Centre. A Montreal native and fluently bilingual, Dr. Sylvain completed medical school and residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University. This was followed by a Perinatology Fellowship at Oxford University, England, with a research focus on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and fetal growth restriction. Upon returning to Canada, he was Associate professor for five years at the CHU of Sherbrooke before joining the team in Ottawa.

Dr. Sylvain furthered his training in ultrasound in Sydney (Australia), Toronto and Winnipeg. He has been involved in multiple clinical research studies as well as teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. He started the Quality Assurance Program in Obstetrics and, most recently, has been actively involved in establishing a Bariatric program in Obstetrics at the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital. He has been director of the Civic Obstetrical Group since its inception in 1999. He holds an academic appointment at the Ottawa University and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons and of ACOG.

Dr. George Tawagi
Dr. George Tawagi is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist specializing in Perinatology. He is Head of Obstetrics at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic campus. He is Director of the Obstetrical High Risk Unit and the Ob/Gyn Ultrasound Clinic. He holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor.
Dr. Tawagi completed his residency training at McGill University and his Fellowship in Perinatal medicine and Diagnostic Ultrasound at the University of Ottawa and the Cleveland Clinic. He is director of the Women’s Ultrasound Clinics.

Dr. Demetra Vassiliou
Dr. Vassiliou earned her medical degree in 1987 from McGill University, Montreal and completed post-graduate studies in Internal Medicine at Queen’s University and Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University and the University of Ottawa. After completing her residency she pursued interests in the then emerging field of minimally invasive surgery and trained with leaders in that field such as Drs. George Vilos, C.Y. Liu and James Daniels. Dr. Vassiliou has been on staff at the Ottawa Hospital since 1993 and has maintained a very busy clinical practice since then. As an Assistant Professor she is involved with teaching of medical students and residents both at her private office and the Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Karen Visser
Dr. Karen Visser received her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2004. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2009. She completed sub-specialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Visser is a member of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Ottawa Hospital Civic campus. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and is active in medical education at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. While Obstetrics is her main focus, she does include general office gynecology within the scope of her practice.

Dr. Visser is currently accepting new obstetrical and gynecological patients.
